This week’s featured race is of course the St Leger, and with punters already betting in large numbers on Logician you will not be too surprised that horse is currently the favourite to win that race, and as far as just what odds are still available upon it, well it is current the even money favourite.
Whilst that horse is certainly attracting plenty of support on the ante post betting markets, one should never overlook the chances of each of the many other horses scheduled to run in that race, and for those of you out there looking for a little bit of betting value the Sir Dragonet at 10/3 is the second favourite and a horse that may just go on to win the St Leger this year.
You are certainly going to be taking chances if you choose to back any of the other runners in that race, but there are a couple of them that I would say have a fair chance of winning, if not the best chance of winning.
Those horses include both Il Paradiso at 5/1 and Sir Ron Priestley at 15/2, however as the ante post betting markets are now open those odds are of course subject to movement at any time, subject to the volumes of bets and wagers placed on any of them.
St Leger Each-Way Betting
There is nothing stopping you from placing an each-way bet rather than an outright winner type of bet on this years St Leger, however, if you do decide to place such an each-way bet then the onus is on you and you alone to ensure that you are getting the best each-way betting terms of course.
One bookie that I feel is offering a decent set of each-way betting terms on this years St Leger is Coral, for they are going to be paying out to three places on each-way bets on that race this year and at one fifth of the win odds too.
The Rest of the St Leger Field
If you are prepared to take your chances by backing one or more of the outsiders each-way in this year’s running of the St Leger race, then you have quite a few them to pick and choose from that’s for sure.
However, at the end of the say it will be their odds that will give you some ideas as to just what their respective winning chances are, and with that in mind let me now quickly run through the rest of the field and enlighten you on just what odds you can secure right now on each of them.
The next two horses in the betting are Dashing Willoughby and Technician at 14/1 and then you have the likes of Nayef Road at 20/1 and Norway at 25/1, however looking at the latter two horses most recent form you are probably not going to be tempted to back them.
Then we move onto the three total and rank outsiders, they are South Pacific at 33/1, Barbados at 40/1 and Western Australia at 50/1, however it would be a major upset and shock to many punters if any of those three horses go on to win this race for even get placed in any of the top three positions in the St Leger this year.
