The Cricket World Cup is another competition in the cricket calendar that does attract plenty of punters to bet on the teams that they think are going to excel in it, and today I want to take a look at the current state of the betting market on it.
You can of course back any team to win, but the art to you getting the very best odds possible will see you hunting around at different betting sites, but one that does have a fair set of odds attached to all teams currently is BetFred, whose odds I will be quoting below.
You are going to find it a difficult task to find high odds being offered on teams such as England, for they are chalked up as the current favourite to win the Cricket World Cup and the best odds I have so far come across this morning on them winning are 7/4.
There has also been plenty of cash rolling in at betting sites on teams such as India, and as it currently stands, they are the solid second favourite to win and the odds you will find generally being offered don’t hem are 5/2.
Don’t Not Overlook Australia
Just three teams are being backed heavily at the money to win the Cricket World Cup this year and in addition to both England and India one other team has been attracting a fair bit of support and that team is Australia.
As for whether you do rate that team’s chances this year, well I will leave that decision up to you as to whether to back them or not, but at odds of 7/2 that does look like the value bet currently and in all fairness to Australia they do have their chances of success this year in this competition.
Best Each-Way World Cup Cricket Terms
I have seen a coupe, of betting sites offering each-way betting terms on the Cricket World Cup which will see punters getting paid out at one third the win odds to two places, however as BetFred are paying out to two places but at one half the win odds, you will be much better of placing an each-way bet on this event with them.
The outsiders and the teams that are not expected to win but ones that you may just fancy backing include New Zealand who are 8/1 and if you get a move on you should still be able to back the likes of West Indies at odds of 9/1,
Pakistan are not without their chances however it is a big ask for them based on their current 20/1 odds, next in the betting you have South Africa who are available at much higher odds, those odds being 40/1.
The final three teams are not being backed at all, and those teams and their respective odds include Bangladesh at 100/1, Sri Lanka who are currently trading at double those odds which are 200/1 and then you have Afghanistan who are a 500/1 shot to win.
